In this 5-day residential workshop with slide guitar supremo Ariel Posen, you’ll spend every day learning a whole lot about blues improvising, rhythm playing and slide guitar, enjoying the delicious food and taking in the magical setting and culture of Tuscany.
Pete Whittard will be joining me for this one. We’ll be looking at 5 classic blues jam songs and the emphasis will be on improvisation within the genre as well as Blues rhythm skills. You can expect 3 hours of lessons (90 mins with each Pete and myself) in the day and 2 hours jamming with a band in the evening. The hotel looks awesome, it’s called Palazzo Viviani – check it out, it’s likely your partners will want to join you for this one!
I will be joined by my regular comrade Dario Cortese. Much like the last workshop, we’ll be playing a different song in a different style each night with a band. You can expect 2 hours of song prep in the morning and an hour in the afternoon on related material and then 2 hours jamming in the evening. Class size is a maximum of 16 people.

A whole week dedicated to playing the music of the Rolling Stones. Pete played the Keith part in The Counterfeit Stones (THE Stones tribute band) for over 10 years, and I played the Brian/Mick/Ronnie part for 5 of those. We’ll be looking at techniques, tunings, guitar layering and 5 all time classics (may change) the songs will be: Honky Tonk Woman, Brown Sugar, Gimme Shelter, Oh! Carol and Can You Hear Me Knockin!
Five days of guitar fun - we'll be looking at a different style every day, to (probably) include rock, country, blues, soul and jazz. You can expect 90 mins of class tuition from each tutor, each day (song prep and related lessons) and then up to 2 hour of late afternoon jamming with our resident drummer and bass player (same as last 2 years, Guido and Gianluca).
